Despite the fact that most of the reviews on Alphasylum were negative, I gave in to the cheap prices of the jewelry on the website and ordered my first pair of 0g plugs. I received the rainbow striped plugs four days after I ordered them. Surprised by the fast delivery, I decided to order again. Little did I know I would end up experiencing what others have in the past.

It has been almost a month since I placed my order and three weeks since the last e-mail they sent me verifying that they received my payment. I have sent FIVE E-MAILS, none of which have been responded to. All in all, I am upset and have yet to hear from them and I just wish I would have never ordered from them in the first place.

Despite the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, the plugs I received came in good condition and look nice.

I had read the negative reviews on here but, figured in ordering anyway from this particular supplier because they were cheapest on eBay for 0g acrylic cbrs and I really liked them. I went ahead and prepared myself with a worst case scenario mindset and allotted a ship time of one and a half months.

I ordered 3 pairs of cbrs in different colors and ended up receiving two the following week with a note from Sarah that the rest would arrive once her stock was replenished. So, thinking ok, I have one pair backordered I'll order 2 more pairs so they all can be shipped at the same time....I placed another order.

I waited and waited...I finally emailed Sarah and attached a photo of the note she had sent me with the first package, she sent me words of apology and shipped my 2nd half of my order priority mail at no charge to me.

The turn around with Alphasylum isn't lightning fast but, you get a great deal and you eventually get your items, however late they may be. Sarah does lag on answering emails, I imagine because she runs the entire show and not only handles auctions but the website; perhaps she's a little overextended. Since I had already prepared myself for a long wait time, it wasn't at all a nightmare. Definitely if I'd have needed these cbr's on an emergency basis it would have been a huge hassle.

Ultimately, I'd return despite the setbacks. I'd rate it an ok score if there were such a thing. 70/100

Ok, let me start off by saying that I fell for it a second time, because the first time I thought it was just some rare incident. Let me tell you what happened the second time. I recently made purchase, and like all other on here, got a confirmation email, and weeks later still no jewelry. This time I called my credit company and filed a dispute- I want my money back if I'm not going to get what I purchased in the time stated (2 days processing + 4 days shipping, and trust me I've waited much longer than that). I wish I came upon this site earlier! It would have really helped me. Also, the phone number listed on the charge doesn't work. How weird is that? Moral: do your research.

I am EXTREMELY satisfied with Alphasylum. The ease of ordering was incredible. The website is organized very nicely and is very easy to order from them. They have a nice selection of body jewelry, and best of all... they feature great prices! The shipping was very quick. First I ordered my 1rst plugs on a Sunday, and I was very surprised to receive them by Wednesday. I was so happy with the quality of the plugs and the service that I ordered some other plugs last Saturday, and I got them today, Wednesday! Again, the plugs are really nicely polished and are exactly how they are pictured on the website. I've read lots of negative reviews on this site, but I think these reviews might be due to the fact that only the people who have a bad experience bother to write a review. I almost didn't write a review myself, but I felt that I really owed it to this company to provide it a positive review. So in short, I am very, very happy with Alphasylum, and I definitely plan to buy many more of their awesome jewelry.

Like many other of the reviews for Alphasylum, I had a somewhat irritating experience. After I ordered my jewelry, I immediately paid through PayPal... I did get a conformation email from Alphasylum saying that they got my payment, and they said they would send it when the payment went through. The payment cleared one week later (about). A month later I was getting a little worried about my order, because I had still not received it. I emailed Alphasylum quite a few times asking them if they sent my order yet. Finally I got an email saying that it must have got lost in the mail and they will send my order again. I got my jewelry about 3 weeks after they sent this email. It was more hassle than it was worth. I finally got my 10 dollar tunnels about 2 months after I ordered them. At least the tunnels are nice though, I can at least say that much.

I wish I had read the reviews here before ordering. The website is well designed and makes the company appear legit. I contacted them via eBay and chose to use the website because of the number of CBRs I was ordering ($50 worth). Submitted my order on the 1st of March, Paypal'ed immediately, got a confirmation email... then nothing. Sent several emails through the website and eBay but, as with most of the reviews here, no response and no jewelry. Hopefully it won't take me as long to resolve this as it has some of the others that reviewed here.

I thought they were awesome at first: custom jewelry at all sizes and diameters. It was a year ago when I ordered the cbrs. Got a conformation email back. I almost forgot about my order until I checked my credit card statement - this was maybe a month later. After several nice emails (gone unresponded to), I sent sort of a nasty one and demanded a refund. I still got no reply and gave up 3 months later. I was starting to think they had died yet robots were still taking orders. Suddenly, I got the cbrs in a few weeks. Exactly what I ordered from them, but by this time I had no need for them anymore. Very frustrating, terrible customer service.

First off, I'd like to say that I had much trouble with Alphasylum. Ok, first I ordered my plugs. I received a confirmation email about 8 hours later. In the email it said 'allow one business week for delivery' so I was expecting a rather speedy delivery. Hell No. After 1 week I emailed the site asking what was up (yes I am very impatient). No response. So I tried again 3 days later. No response. So I thought I'd give it another week. Then in about another 2 days I decided to make another order, like an idiot. I ordered a 14 ga. barbell from Alphasylum. I never received a confirmation email. Then that one week went by. I email them again. NO RESPONSE. So I gave it ONE more week. That week went by. Still no freakin response after 2 days. This made me very angry. I sent a very rude and angry email to Alphasylum, I won't get into detail, but believe me, it wasn't pretty. This finally got their attention. The lady (Sarah) said that she never received an email from me. Bullshit. Sarah was kind of rude in her email, and suggested I'd get a refund. But I didn't want to wait way longer to get my stuff, so I just told her I was sorry and to go through with the orders. She did put the orders together though so that I get 2.00 off. That was pretty cool, but that's all that was cool. The thing that was wrong with my plugs was that they were on backorder. Shit they could've at least emailed me back to tell me this right? And there was no problem with my barbell and they had just been waiting for the plugs to come so they could ship both orders out together. As for the quality, I find that the plugs are very high quality, nicely polished and the o rings fit the groove right. But the barbell... shit. The balls got stripped out after taking them off ONCE. I could see this happening over a long period of time... but no...in a few days. So I tried to jimmy rig it and glue one ball on, since one ball was only semi stripped, and when I took that ball off, the bastard broke right in half. I just used Elmer's glue to fix it. Now I'm wearing a ghetto ass barbell, but hey it works if that's how you think. I wouldn't recommend Alphasylum - yeah hella cheap - but their customer service sucks.

Never again! I made my order from their web site the first of April. I received an order confirmation within hours, but it was incorrect. I immediately replied back and received another confirmation with the correct order. They said to allow one business week for delivery. Three weeks had gone by and I received nothing. I e-mailed back and they said there was some difficulty with the site and they would re-ship my order. Four weeks went by and I received nothing. I have continued to email with no response from them. I found that my credit card had been charged for this jewelry I still hadn't received. It is now the middle of June and I have not received any jewelry nor has my money been refunded. This is the absolute worst site I have ever ordered from and will never order off the internet again. Yes they offer cheap, quality jewelry, but what is the point if you never get it. This is a poorly created business and all of my friends, family and even aquaintences, and every one I meet that has any kind of piercing have been informed of this. This is the first time I have ever been ripped off and it will be the last.

Although I have had positive experiences with Alphasylum in the past, I currently must count myself among all of the other dissatisfied customers.

On Feb. 11, 2002, I placed an order for an 8 gauge 3/8" titanium curved barbell. I used my credit card to pay what I thought was a very reasonable $28 plus $2 shipping, and after receiving a confirmation email, expected to receive my order with a couple of weeks.

On March 15, 2002, after more than a month, I emailed the company and stated that I had not received my order although my credit card had been charged. I requested that the order be cancelled and my payment refunded, as I no longer needed the item. Instead of doing as I requested, I received a reply from sarah@alphasylum.com stating that another barbell would be shipped to replace the one that I never received.

On April 6, 2002, I still had not received the item and once again asked that the order be cancelled and my money refunded.

A short while after that, I did receive the item. It was exactly what I had ordered, unfortunately now completely useless to me.

On April 20, 2002, I received yet another correspondence from sarah@alphasylum.com apologizing for the crossed emails and for the fact that it was too late to refund me.

As I stated on April 24, 2002, in my final email to sarah@alphasylum.com, good quality items and reasonable prices do not make up for very poor customer service. Had I received a refund the first time I asked, I would have a much more favorable opinion of Alphasylum. As it is, I will not be purchasing from them again, and I will be advising everyone that I know to take their business elsewhere as well.

Like the reports from most on here, mine is a bad one. All the way back in January I ordered quite a lot of moneys worth from this site. I did receive a conformation e-mail, and assumed that I'd be seeing my jewelery soon. I completely forgot that I'd ordered from them, it was taking so long. I saw on my credit card bill in Feburary that the charge was made, but guess what? No jewelery. I decided to give it a while, figuring that there was a backorder problem of some sort. Come March, I finally e-mailed the Alphasylum people to figure out what was going on. They said that they would arrange another mailer for me, which, needless to say, never happened. They have not responded to my recent e-mails to them either. And if you have ordered and have received nothing, do what I'm doing; report them to the BBB.

The first time I tried ordering from this site, I got no confirmation, no receipt, and no reply to an email I sent until about a week later when I got a trite response that their software wasn't working. I was asked if I still wanted the plugs, but by then, I had ordered a pair from somewhere else.

The second time I tried, I got my order confirmation in 48 hours, just like the FAQ said I would. It also said to allow one business week to receive my plugs. That was about five weeks ago. My credit card was charged (albeit with ann 'N/A' store listing, though I know it was the plugs). I've emailed the company about 7 or 8 times, just asking for information, proof that they were sent, what happens to the charge on my card if I never receive them, but still no response, despite the emails becoming less and less friendly. I feel like I have been completely ripped off, since there has been no concern on their end to help me. I'd call them to complain, but there's no phone number listed anywhere.

Their site may look professional, but this company most certainly is not. I got one rude email the first time they screwed up and I stupidly trusted them again and now it seems I've been screwed out of my money the second time. I've made a lot of online purchases in my life, and this is the first that's made me question the whole thing. I really don't need the insecurity of my credit card number floating around with people like this.

Alphasylum is the worst site I've ever attempted to deal with. I ordered these plugs 3 MONTHS ago for a friend's birthday. I figured that they'd get here in time--they still haven't. I ordered from them because they were cheap ($14 for the plugs & $1 for shipping) but now I see why. Their customer service sucks too--I emailed them after the first month, to wonder what was going on & to see if I could get 0's instead-or my money back. No reply. The only thing I've ever got from them is an email saying that they received my payment & that they would be shipping in the morning. My ass. That was a month ago I think. Their prices are great, but not if you don't get your stuff. I don't know about the quality of their jewelry, but the quality of their service is horrible. I found the link to Alphasylum on BME with the promise of "cheap", so I thought it would be a good idea to try a new place. And, yes it was cheap. I placed my order and opted to pay with PayPal. A few days later I was emailed back that they had received my payment and were going to ship my order the following day. Three weeks later and I still had not received my package. I emailed them asking for a tracking number---no response. I emailed them again about 4 days later and again I received no response. They could have at least responded with a "we're screwing you over" but alas they chose to leave me hanging. Finally I decided to file a complaint with PayPal and 2 weeks later I received my money back---thanks to PayPal. Argh. [statement removed by request of supplier due to defamation claims]. Although their site is easy to use, it is not worth the hassle.

Alphasylum has a very user friendly site. Their prices are really great too. The first time I ordered, I received my barbell very quickly. The price was right and the merchandise was of high quality. I was very satisfied. The second time I ordered a labret. After several weeks of waiting for the item, I emailed their customer service and got no response. After FIVE emails I finally got a rude response telling me that the product was on back order. After a few more weeks I emailed again to ask when I might receive my order. I received a very annoyed email back telling me that it had been shipped. When I got my order there was no apology for the crappy service I received or anything. Just recently I ordered a set of plugs just because they're so cheap. They never processed my order. If you can get your merchandise through them, they are definately cheap and have good quality jewelry but their customer service sucks.
