Jewelry bought: 1/2" double flared cats eye plugs; 1/2" spotted glass plugs

I am always interested in finding new and interesting body jewelry for my piercings. I frequently search for new products, manufacturers, and retailers. I came upon some well-priced jewelry at Art N Soul Body Jewelry, and decided to place a small order of two pairs of plugs. The prices and policies seemed good, and I have always had good experiences with small jewelry retailers. On February 18, 2003, I ordered a pair of double flared cats eye plugs and a pair of spotted glass bullets. I paid a little extra for UPS Ground shipping, just to ensure a safe and speedy delivery.

On March 3, 2003, I received a package from Art N Soul via regular USPS delivery. I opened it and found only one pair of plugs, the double flared cats eye plugs. I immediately wrote an email to Art N Soul, asking about the other pair of plugs and the lack of UPS shipping. On March 6, 2003, I received a reply from Tiffany. She informed me that the spotted glass bullets are a "hand made item" with a "4 week lead time." She gave me the option to wait or to replace those plugs with another item. She also explained that the first pair was shipped USPS so I would receive the cats eye plugs promptly; the other pair would be shipped UPS Ground when it was ready. I immediately replied that I was fine with waiting for the spotted glass plugs, and requested an update when the status changed (e.g. the plugs were delayed, shipped, etc.). I would have preferred some form of contact (or even a note within the first package) explaining this, but I was satisfied for the moment.

A month passed. On April 7, I decided that the "4 week lead time" was just past over, so I sent another message about my missing pair of plugs. This time, I received no reply. Toward the end of April, I used their web form to send another message. Still no reply. My email address seems to have worked for them before, as I received two messages from them. I have no reason to suspect that their mail is being blocked or returned, and certainly no reason to suspect that they could not ship my plugs to my home. I am immensely disappointed.

In two days, it will be exactly three months since I placed my order with Art N Soul Body Jewelry. It has been several weeks since I have last heard from their representative. I have every reason to believe at this point that my $22 (plus shipping) has been wasted. I plan to send this letter to their email address, their postal address, and perhaps to their local business bureau.
