| Jewelry bought: 12 gauge 1/4"curved barbell | |
|
I am the very proud owner of an inverse vertical labret. I adore this piercing, but unfortunately it requires a very odd piece of jewelry - a 12 gauge 1/4" curved barbell with a flat labret back on one end and a tiny ball on the other, preferably colored titanium. I'm a sucker for colored titanium. When I lost the original barbell, I quickly realized that I would have to have the new one custom made. I emailed all of my favorite body jewelry suppliers and was disappointed with the answers I received. Many informed me that they don't do custom orders, and those that could wanted a small fortune in return. When it comes to barbells, I usually shop quality over price, but I was having a lot of trouble justifying spending so much money on a piece of jewelry the size of my fingernail. Finally I found the Good Art Company website, and although I found it a somewhat annoying website to navigate (just my opinion), I emailed them anyway with my request. I received a quick response informing me that not only could they make the jewelry that I needed, they could do it for a very reasonable price. Ultimately I think I paid less than $40 including shipping charges. I was so excited that I forgot to give them my credit card information. They very politely emailed back and I replied with my credit card info. But I still hadn't told them my address, so I had to email them again. Through all of this, they were very polite, patient and a pleasure to deal with. I received my barbell in just a few weeks, which I think is a very good turn around time for a custom piece of jewelry. The jewelry itself seems to be high quality, smooth, polished and without gaps where the threaded ends meet the shaft. There has been some fading of the color on the ball, which is just the nature of anodized titanium, but the loss of color is fairly minimal considering I have been wearing the jewelry constantly for several months. I have purchased colored titanium from other companies which seem to fade almost immediately. I highly recommend the Good Art Company for high quality jewelry, reasonable prices and excellent customer service. | |
