| Jewelry bought: 2g black acrylic circular septum "tusk" | |
|
After reading a rather positive review on Modified Mind about this particular jewelry site (despite the lackluster web design), I decided I would order some jewelry from their company. Luckily, there was a piece of 2g septum jewelry on sale for cheap ($5 or so) that really interested me, so I simply ordered the jewelry. After receiving a "receipt" in the e-mail, I patiently waited for my jewelry, and oh, did I wait. After a month oF waiting, and numerous ignored e-mails, I called their toll-free number, in an attempt to work out my problem. The first time I called, the person who answered the phone said something to the extent of "call back later, the person who handles this stuff is at lunch". After shrugging that off, I called again the next day and was once again, put off. Finally, after calling a third time, I was able to get in touch with a reasonable person who basically said my jewelry was on back order, and I should have it within 1-2 weeks. At this point I should have known better and simply cancelled my order, but I was determined to get this jewelry. Fast forward yet another month (or a bit more than a month), the jewelry still wasn't received and after making a slightly irritated call to their site again, I was told that "the jewelry supplier who made this stuff seems to have gone out of business, no credit cards were charged for this order and all traces of that jewelry style have been removed from our site." Needless to say, my order has been cancelled. However, looking at my previous credit card bill, I realized that I was already charged for the jewelry (approximately $10) about 3 months ago, when I originally ordered the stuff. However, given my past experiences with them, it's simply not cost-effective to get my $10 refunded. I'd rather not waste anymore time on this company and just chalk up the $10 to experience. Since it is the last money they are getting from me, I figure it's fair. At any rate, out of 10, I'd give the customer service of this company about a 3 and well, I surely can't say from the standpoint of jewelry quality, since I NEVER RECEIVED MY ORDER. Oh well, I've learned my lesson with this particular supplier, I hope most experiences with their company is better than mine was.

After deciding to do some home piercing, I shopped around online and found that JC Jewelry has some of the best prices online. Their associates were friendly and helpful, they have a great selection, and shipping is prompt considering they make most of their jewelry to order. They will also make odd sizes of jewelry. On the downside, the quality isn't top of the line, and my first CBR came scratched. Also, a niobium CBR purchased for a friend is not well polished, and the color is starting to wear off. I guess I got what I paid for though.
