LA Body Jewelry seemed like a good place to order from. The jewelry seems to be of decent quality and is low-priced. A couple of reviews on Modified Mind supported my impression that it would be a good place to order from. Ordering was simple and the online catalogue looked nice and I was excited to receive some jewelry since it's hard to come by where I live.

My order was placed several months ago and is yet to arrive. I have emailed them and have not received a reply a few times, and most recently my email to them was bounced back by the server. Not a good sign! Unfortunately, because I live overseas and they didn't provide a USPS tracking number for the package, there isn't a lot that I can do. I plan on calling them and seeing how far that gets me.

My review would be longer, but I can't say anything about the quality of the product because it hasn't arrived.

LA Body Jewelry has a lot going for it. It ships very quickly (my order arrived in 5 days), the prices are very low, and the selection is fairly good. There are also several levels of quality you can pick from on basic pieces (barbells and captives), depending on what you are willing to pay.

However, my "stainless steel" navel ring has had the finish, or whatever it was, rub off it around the gem setting and is now rather bronzey and tarnished in spots. I'm guessing that only the shaft and bead of the barbell were actually SS, since they have been fine -- okay, fair enough considering I bought it for $6.95, but it would have been nice to know. Also, my jeweled slave barbell was a flop. The threading was really loose and I constantly kept losing the ball off the shaft, not a good thing when you've recently gotten your tongue pierced and don't have the hang of discreetly fixing the ball. The very first day I wore it, the "slave ring" part of the jewelry snapped off and I swallowed it. Lovely, eh? I wasn't biting it either, I was drinking soda so take that as you will. My sister, who placed an order with them on my initial recommendation, also found that her navel rings corroded ... ick. And shipping was a bit steep at $6-ish for a few button-sized bits of jewelry.

They have a great and trendy selection of quirky jewelry, but I wouldn't recommend them if you're looking for professional quality on basics, or a piece you want to wear for a long, long time.

First for the good part. I ordered 4 earrings from here. 2 surgical steel faceted crystal bead rings and 2 acrylic CBR's. The prices were excellent. Only $24.00 for all four items ($6.00 each). The greatest part was that I received the jewelry in 3 days. So I do recommend LA Body Jewelry, for their great prices and fast shipping. Now for the not so good part. They charged $5.95 for shipping, yet on the package it says shipping was $3.95. That's not the bad part though, I don't really mind wasting $2.00. However I do mind wasting $18.00. I attempted to put in an acrylic hoop first, it snapped. I figured whatever, and I threw it out. I picked up the other one and it snapped as well. I was getting a little peeved. So I put in the surgical steel hoop, that went in fine. I attempted to put on the crystal bead and it broke into 3 different pieces. So I took the other crystal bead and put it in. That went fine. So out of four earrings, I'm left with 1 complete earring, 1 surgical steel hoop, and 2 acrylic beads.

LABodyJewelry.com has been a nice place to order online. They have average prices, and ship quickly. The shipping price is what I consider a bit high at $5.95. The items I ordered were received in 3 days. I have ordered from them on 3 seperate occasions and have not had any problems. I have never contacted the customer service because I have never needed to. The ordering process and online shopping cart are quick and easy to use. You will receive a confirmation email after your order is placed. If you are looking for something original, or unique you may want to look somewhere else because most of the Body Jewelry here is standard stuff. However, if you're looking for standard stuff, fair prices, and quick shipping you may want to check them out.
